House between Trees
Constructed in 2017 for Hilary Wright Architects.
A combination of traditional red brick with a contemporary roof design and modern coloured render.
Challenges: while the design incorporated a lot of sharp lines and striking angles the engineering of the roof was complex. Consisting of two large triangular planes cantilevered on one side, a combination of steel beams and timbers each individually cut and fit allowed the design to be complete.
With an elevator built in the highest corner, a modern air to water heating system, triple glazed windows and highest insulation specs, this home is future proofed and sits beautifully surrounded by trees.
